What about the 18:6 (18 hours of fasting, 6 hours window to eat) for maintenance? Isn't it somewhat better and more comfortable (thus easier to maintain long term and remain and the ideal weight forever) as opposed to 1 day of fasting and one day of refeeding? (talking about the <20% body fat category - basically, normal life)

I agree. Anything that requires drastic lifestyle changes is unlikely to be followed for a long period of time. It's why fad diets come and go. They're often pretty extreme divergences from your pre-existing habits.

Unless you used this technique briefly to get you down to a healthy body fat percentage, say 15-20 and then switched to an 18:6 to maintain. I could get behind that as long as the lack of food doesn't distract people from their work or anything like that.

You can also try the long slow fat burn.

It's easy and far less stressful, and also allows your skin time to adapt to your new shape.

No carbs except for one bagel a day. All you can eat proteins and fats. One day a week, eat whatever you like. I usually order a pizza. Include some kind of regular exercise.

This creates an artificially low carb situation - low carbs, that forces your body to burn off body fat to make up the difference, yet it also keeps you out of ketosis. You will burn off about 1/2 lb of body fat each day, or 2 to 3 lbs each week. You will lose 60lbs in four to six months.

All you can eat proteins and fats means just that, pig out until you are stuffed to overflowing and you will still lose weight, meanwhile you will also be quite full and will know no hunger whatsoever. I make huge meals, like giant Caesar salads, no croutons, with big chunks of pork and chicken. Or all you can eat fish and vegetables. You get the idea. All you can eat bacon and eggs, just no toast.

The exercise component is an important part. It doesn't really matter what kind so long as it gets your breathing up for an extended period of time. Your body will burn body fat for energy during this process, because it is short on carbs. So go for a walk, or fuck your girlfriend, whatever you need to do. You want to be breathing hard for at least half an hour. Make some testosterone like a real man. Enjoy the adrenaline buzz.

Losing weight slowly keeps your skin tight, without stretch marks. Your body will adapt, inside and out.

Tried full keto and felt like shit. Did the bagel with breakfast thing for a couple days and felt better while dropping weight.

I'm about to try the Snake Diet for the first time. I would guess i'm 30% body fat. Been going to the gym for ages, built muscle but the fat I picked up 2 christmas's back from drinking just held on.

Excited to skip cooking.
