Tesla gave away his work to benefit humanity. He single handedly ushered in the modern age with his hundreds of patents that are still in use today. Lasers, microwaves, a/c motors, etc...
He died poor in a hotel room after having his life sabotaged and his reputation dragged through the mud simply because he was a direct threat to their system of control.

Thanks. I was thinking of Musk's company. Tesla hadna wide range of inventions, not just electrio-magnetic. He had a turbine and I think he was the inventor of a one way fluid flow valve with no moving parts. (It wouldn't completely srop reverse flow, but it wouldbne greatly reduced which was still amazing.)
