Cell phones and male infertility: dissecting the relationship

While not exactly news, it is well known that aircraft mounted weather radar waves can literally make you sterile in 5 seconds if you pass in front of one. Mobile phones also emit radio waves but over a longer period of time. Doesn't seem healthy.. Like a slow poison drip perhaps.

Weather radar is about power, not the wave.

All radars are fairly powerful devices. All RF energy falls off at the square of the distance. Which means required TX power in non- linear (why log db scales are frequently used).

To be useful in aviation, especially in faster aircraft, it must be able to put enough power into a wave which can travel 40-500 miles, round trip. This includes though atmospheric conditions such attenuate and disperse the signal, which prevents a reflected return.

Like comparing a shotgun with a nerfed gun.

"Speculative Reason" is the better title.

Even the abstract says studies on human males have been "scarce" so this all leads to just speculation.

This is an easy hypothesis to test: does the decline of fertility in western men start when cell phones arrive on the scene? The answer is, "no." That pretty much ruins that theory.
