I try talking about this information to people and I find incredible resistance to the idea that there's no reason to be afraid, and there was definitely no reason to shut down the world's economy. The fake news media has been aggressively pushing the idea that everyone needs to be terrified, and stay locked up in their house or they'll die. And the general public (the sheeple) has bought it, lock stock and barrel. Our 'rulers' must be laughing their asses off looking at how easy it was to get the public corralled and then have everyone run off a cliff. (ergo, destroy the economy).
