All I'm saying is you can catch more flies with honey than bile. Whatever the facts are, if you're out to convince or convert others, they are more effectively presented in a conciliatory manner. If you follow the stereotype of "angry fanatical vegan" it's very easy for others to dismiss your arguments out-of-hand.

It's basically the right to privacy. No illegal search and seizure and all that. its probably obviously I am a supporter of it.

Whats your take on the people who make the argument "I've got nothing to hide so why do I care"

It's not about whether or not you have anything to hide. It's about not having big brother peering over your shoulder, gathering your information, and doing God knows what with it.

That, and a general sense of limiting the scope of big government
