Just wait until half the characters in action / thriller movies feel entirely unrelatable. So much suspense in movies is based on relating to helplessness. There are a lot of places where a gun is pretty irrelevant. Like 99% of places, but you will never be in a situation where you are physically helpless. "Why don't you just shoot the bad guy?" "Why wouldn't you own a gun?"
If movies were accurate to real life they would be pretty boring. The scenarios often rely on almost everyone not being armed unless they are a cop, when in reality there are more guns in the US than there are people. Scream would have never worked in real life. Half of those kids would have had access to a gun.
