As an Ohio citizen I don't mind paying for my fishing licensee. Ohio DNR stocks lakes with fish among other things. Brining my Constructional right to bear arms in the picture is silly.
License to fish is just a tax right? Its not like a driver's license, or a boating license, those license requires you to demonstrate competence to safely partake in an activity.
When you put it that way, it sounds raycis.
It is but it also counts as a government issued ID. If you move and your driver's license does not have your current address on it you can't use it to buy a gun.. However, you can go and buy a seasonal fishing license on-the-spot that now is a government issued ID that allows you to buy a gun.
Still kind of stupid but it has purposes other than just a game&fish tax.
Thats wild. The last time I bought a fishing license in my state, it was basically just a paper card with my name and an expiration date.
That is exactly what it is in most states. Just make sure you sign it or you will get a fine from Game&Fish if you present it not signed.
Brilliant answer****
Here in my shitty european country we also have licenses for fishing but it is primarily made to protect the enviornment from over fishing. If a million cunts went fishing everyday we would be out of fish in a month. Same with wild animals for hunting. You have q yearly quota to respect, and I find it totally normal.
On the other hand, there is no quota for protecting yourself. If I get assaulted 5000 times, I have the right to kill them 5000 times. Its only fair. Vermins arent game.
