The hebe is correct, broadly...homicides of children has exceeded motor vehicle deaths somewhat in the past 5 years, but here's the rest of the information.
- Gun related injury (and motor vehicle deaths) ticked up sharply at the scamdemic's start, and have continued their uptick into the current depression. (as did overdose and poisoning.)
2: Motor vehicle deaths have dropped sharply since 1999, reflecting a decrease of 1/2 - most likely due to cars being able to handle an accident and not kill you, as well as increased awareness and enforcement of regulations regarding securing of children in vehicles (latter part is my guesses based on observation.) While motor vehicle deaths mostly leveled off, they were still decreasing slightly and gun injuries were increasing slightly, so chances are they would have crossed regardless of other influences.
3: FentyFloyd's goodifying and increased illegals - where do they play into those gun injuries? No data for race of shooter or shot is given, and seems to be hard to find. There's also limited data on if the child simply found an unsecured firearm and shot someone because they were playing with it.
But, by and large, the number of abortions at ~600k+ (last reported numbers I could find, 2021) have killed the most children.

All cause accidents are the leading cause of death for kids last I heard. I don't think that category should be separated since those things happen even with attempts at mitigation. This is how they fudge the stats by showing all types of child gun deaths (homicide, suicide, accidents, etc.) And raising the age considered to be a child. On the other hand they specific what kind of accidents (drowning, falling, vehicle) so that gun deaths are inflated while all others are minimized.
How the data is broken out is really subjective, and I've also seen the all-cause mentioned as the leading cause of death.
The data I found simply referred to "Gun related injury" as the cause of death. (Changed my response to reflect that.) But my response was simply to clarify the answers presented in the original post, where there's not enough data to make anything more than broad assumptions about what was being discussed. Some sources seem to include gun deaths in all-cause accidents.
The one data point that is factual, abortions kill more children than pretty much every other cause listed, en toto.
