The answer is anyone has the right to own a gun. If someone is considered dangerous to society, they should not not be in the general population.

Yep. If they are "too dangerous" to own a gun, they do not belong in society at all.
Im even for allowing felons to get guns after they serve their time. They supposedly "paid" for their crimes. If they can be let out back into society again then they should be able to get all of their "rights" back.
