Interesting theory that I caught on The Bongino Show today, after the 09/11 commemoration part of the show he discussed this.

Why is the worst extremist commie dem Rep Ted Lieu of CA speaking out against this Governor's illegal act? It's because the left doesn't want legal precedent to be set with this easy case that the Governor will lose and the people will win. The left still wants to take your 2A rights but by another tactic and they don't want the idiot Governor setting it up to strengthen your 2A right with legal rulings that affirm your constitutional rights.

Bongino's theory on why Ted Lieu who is the worst dem would immediately publicly speak out in favor of 2A was that the Governor wasn't supposed to to that.
