Don't tell them casing catchers exist.
Or even just reloading. If casings were serialized and I was a criminal, it'd be trivial to pocket a few casings from the floor every range trip and reload them. Presto, the next time I sideways-gun driveby my rival gang, all the casings I leave behind have serials purchased by some random geezer who was shooting at the range before me.
Sure, RSOs will be up my ass if I raid the brass bucket, but they could care less about someone picking up a handful of casings from a previous patron's lackadaisical sweeping.
It's an absolutely insane and idiotic bill.
Just as stupid as microstamping and "smart" guns.
The sole "smart" gun I've seen that isnt complete garbage is the Biofire, and that's a niche use case of a dedicated nightstand gun for people who're concerned about unauthorized household users. E.g. if you have a felon living in the home, are running a home-based daycare, etc it'd be a solid upgrade over "no gun" or "gun locked in a safe".
It's not something I'd carry because that isnt my niche, but it'd the closest thing I've seen to functional. Every other "smart gun" is a good way to get yourself killed and objectively inferior to a traditional firearm.
