liberal/communists and their lawyers can word salad all they want but they will not stand and debate the facts. 'THE People' is the Same People in every Amendment. The 'Rights' in the Bill of Rights are not Given by the Gov., they are Absolute restrictions ON the Gov. Not to 'Infringe'. ANY and Every politician that attempts to change the 2nd Amendment and make gun control laws, IS guilty of Treason.
Not sure if this is true or not, but I remember learning that the Founders spent an absurd amount of time debating on where to place that comma.
They wanted it to be absolutely crystal fucking clear to anyone who read it, that day, or hundreds of years from that day. It got really heated at some points as they argued.
And this is the conclusion they arrived at.
It is worth noting that several states recognized the right to bear arms before the federal Bill of Rights was enacted.
https://www2.law.ucla.edu/volokh/beararms/statecon.htm has a summary of gun rights by state
https://guncite.com/journals/halvt.html goes into much detail regarding the specific cases of PA, NC, VT, and MA
They fought a war for 2 years against a militia...
No.
So the militia could never take them (guns) away...
No.
To you; yes yes yes
(((double spacing)))
no
Nice pedantics. The point is sound. The 2nd Amendment is about people having weapons to keep their government in check.
Quite literally nothing I wrote was pedantic. You used (((reddit spacing))). I confirmed everything you said and called out the inaccuracies of the video - no pedantics.
WTF is (((reddit spacing)))?
They are called "short paragraphs" or "bullet points".
Putting breaks between cohesive points so as to avoid a text wall existed before preddit.
The modern use of paragraphs with indentation and line breaks to indicate a new unit of thought or topic began in Europe during the Middle Ages.
Credit for using the modern paragraphing is given to the French writer and philosopher Michel de Montaigne in the late 16th century.
Michel de Montaigne was not jewish. He was a Christian.
Are "bullet points" also (((reddit spacing))) to you?
Is the (((reddit spacing))) in the room with you right now?
Unless youre white, then that doesnt apply.
The magical document of and for a free people. The entire constitution is based on small gov, freedoms and liberty, with guidelines for the setup of government. So why would it restrict citizens having guns in any form. Why even mention it? Why even mention guns in the document of liberty, if not to state “shall not be infringed”. Any argument for that is, come and take them. If you’re so sure that it what that “meant”, come and take them from law abiding people and see what happens. The majority of country knows this. And hopefully this doesn’t take a turn into bloodshed. But I’m pretty sure it will in a few years.
The Second Amendment is not about defending your right to hunt or have a hobby.
Correct.
The Second Amendment is not about defending your right to self-defense from criminals.
Sort-of.
The Second Amendment is about defending your right to protect yourself from your own Government.
Also sort-of.
The second amendment is about defending the republic, both in advocating for a militia and in maintaining a culture able to act as such a militia. But that militia is intended to (paraphrasing our current military oath) protect us from enemies, both foreign and domestic. I'd opine that criminals at-large should be considered domestic enemies.
That's some fancy jew talk. Are you a jew, boy?
