I agree with the idea, but this is grandstanding. If he were serious, he would put forward a bill to neuter or repeal the NFA Acts of'34 and '68.
It's no different than gun rights organizations scrambling to sue over atf rules and not going directly after the nfa acts. Hell, the NRA helped write them.
There are multiple lawsuits (including I believe a SCOTUS case) targeting the NFA.
Granted, not brought by NRA.
I guess the right phrasing is "some orgs". I know there's a few decent lawsuits in the works but it should have been resolved decades ago if not outright allowed to happen.
It's good to grandstand things like Ending the ATF and Ending the Fed.
Yes, if they keep at it. I think this might be an over the top headline-grabbing attempt that will be rejected, and then the whole issue gets memory holed.
