I've been keeping an eye on the federal register and they have yet to publish the rule. They're either waiting to get their eform process polished or they're having second thoughts about publishing due to the lawsuits and backlash.

I agree with the idea, but this is grandstanding. If he were serious, he would put forward a bill to neuter or repeal the NFA Acts of'34 and '68.

It's no different than gun rights organizations scrambling to sue over atf rules and not going directly after the nfa acts. Hell, the NRA helped write them.

There are multiple lawsuits (including I believe a SCOTUS case) targeting the NFA.

Granted, not brought by NRA.

I guess the right phrasing is "some orgs". I know there's a few decent lawsuits in the works but it should have been resolved decades ago if not outright allowed to happen.

Yes, if they keep at it. I think this might be an over the top headline-grabbing attempt that will be rejected, and then the whole issue gets memory holed.

It gets people on the record about the position. It won’t pass now. It will when people throw out the people who expose themselves.

The easiest example is Biden, a career politician, if that were the case.

It forces people in Congress to out their positions and drain the RINO and Koshervatives from an America First GOP for 2024. Most of this stuff won’t pass but The People want it and will watch who votes what way on this stuff. Also breaks narratives about who the majority really is and how disparate our representation is to light fires under asses.
