I looked at a Sam's door a while ago, it has a nice request to not open carry. Alluding to they won't stop you from concealed carry.

Personally, I think openly carrying is stupid. I can do it, but I never do. Concealed all the way.
I’d rather have the element of surprise in a situation. Not to mention, if someone is hellbent on doing something stupid, then you’re the first target.
I get the argument that “it’s a deterrent” and I’m sure in many cases it is.
But from a tactical standpoint, I think it just makes more sense to have an element of surprise.

She was open carrying, in an open carry state, with a concealed carry permit. The store said no open carry please, so she saw the sign the same time the door guy saw her with the gun, she covered it, which is what her permit allows her to do, but the door guy went beyond his authority and reported it anyway causing this drama

The problem is random people get freaked out over guns. It's weird. It's usually women too. They notice a gun and can't help but make sure you're allowed to have it so they have something to chat with their girlfriends about later.
