The majority of people there live in cities while half the people in the US live outside of them. That makes a big difference. I see them trying more gun control shit here but I do not see them doing a full confiscation. It's not gonna happen here.

This is an accurate analogy, but self defence against criminals is beside the point. “A well regulated militia” is meant to protect the people from their own government. If someone openly or secretly takes over the US government they will not have taken over the USA. To take over the USA you need to defeat every last citizen willing to stand up and defend it with their constitutionally guaranteed right “to keep and bear Arms”.
