Suppressors do not inhibit the working of a gun to the slightest degree.

Technical correction only. Silencers do cause more rapid heat build up, do affect point of impact, and do add both length and weight to a gun. They are a tool. Nothing more.

On locked breach guns like your typical pistol suppressors add mass to the reciprocating system, slowing rearward movement and potentially inducing failures. Ammunition and springs have to be balanced to provide reliable function, additionally on any pistols a device is required at the suppressor to allow greater movement of the barrel.

Suppressors are wonderful and should be completely legal to own without a background checl or permit but they should remain a personal choice. I would love to have one on a home defense gun.
