This is just like banning alcohol during prohibition. It will make people own a lot more guns, illegally, and thus a lot more shooting will happen as a result, negating the effects of the stupid bad policy completely and then some.

The required 'executive order' to stop crime is, NO Blacks should ever be able to legally own a firearm and those caught with one are shot on sight. Crime will fall by 90% in a week.

Wow, just think - Trump could have done that,made reciprocity federal law, banned gun registries, and generally made gun ownership wildly available. He could have mandated open source software on voting machines too, but that wouldn't have helped the communist takeover one bit.
