I expect to see balkanization between urban and rural, with suburbs being claimed depending on location.
States with more medium sized cities ultimately turning blue, those with only a few population centers with go red, and states with lots of rural and spawl from larger cities will be battlegrounds.
Yeah, I'd agree with that outlook. I'd even add that there would be some shifting between locations as the local politics changes. For example, I can imagine leftists who've moved to, say, Austin from CA digging in hard in their leftist enclave but if enough people on the right were to move there it could be possible to send them packing.
That sounds reasonable to me.
They generally can't handle being made fun of and don't know how to effectively engage when they are the minority because there is no mob to strike for them while they cry out in pain.
