NYC is home to far more blue collar people than rich people. People with families, careers, etc. who just can't pack up and leave. I know many who have done exactly that and even more who plan to as soon as they can make it work.
The big issue i NYC increases and uses taxes as a weapon to force subserviency. People leaving? Increase taxes across the board. NJ does the same shit every time there's an exodus of people living, they will fucking cripple their own citizenry to keep them enslaved
NY, NJ, CT are all the same. Driving out the very people who support the economy then raising taxes on those who are still there.
Rinse. Repeat.
Makes you think, social services and the people are really not up on the list, so much as desolation, destitution and enslavement. These people dont want citizens, they want subjects
