A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State
I'm thinking about dropping that part. No need to explain myself. In a couple hundred years from now, people may be confused. It could become a point of contention.
Maybe that's what led to my tepid reaction. I'd be worried that the word "militia" would be purposefully misconstrued by people looking to limit the right.
I could see it happen.
I have daydreamed where I get to sit down with the founders and explain how their vision was distorted over the generations. I wonder what document they would have produced knowing what we know now.
Guys, you better sit down.
