I am sure with practice she can make it sound wonderful

She used to be pretty good. So, it shouldn't take her too long to get the rust knocked off and be playing well again.

I've taken some breaks from guitar, never very long but there were times when I was unable to practice as often as I wanted.

You can knock the rust off pretty quickly. Well, I can... It doesn't take long to be back at your previous skill level.
