I'm not sure how good a saw it'd make against hardened steel, but then again they cut up metal using toothpaste and dental floss. If you've got 24 hours a day to think about being bad, there's gonna be something you can come up with.

And the cost of phone calls from jails/prisons is fucking retarded. I can afford it. Now, how many people are in my shoes? Better, how many people with incarcerated loved ones have enough money to regularly communicate with loved ones? Unless they're a drug dealer that's on the phone all day, you're shit out of luck when it comes to keeping up with friends and family.

By the way, keeping up with friends and family is one of the best ways to reduce recidivism. Go figure?

And guitar strings would make for a very effective garrote.

You could cut the grout between the cinder blocks with it easier that the hardened steel

I could see inmates using it as a garrote. Sneak up behind someone, throw it over their neck, and quietly pull 'em into a blind spot. They'll be unconscious quickly and dead in just a few minutes - so long as you keep it tight enough to stop the blood flow, otherwise maybe five minutes.

I can see that happening too, especially in prison. There's bad guys there!
