Yeah with the tethering app I downloaded it was slower than usable, five minutes to load a text page

On Friday, we're going to have a low of -22°.

The winds will be blowing, so we're looking at a windchill of -37°.

That's down in the village.

I'm at a higher elevation and I'll have more wind.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a windchill of -60. That's not just chilly, that's straight up fucking cold.

That's the kind of cold that keeps me inside. That's the kind of cold that kills - and kills quickly.

My cold weather gear is rated (at best) at -40° - but that's for the real temperature. So, I'll be okay if I keep out of the wind and properly dressed. Your outer layer is a windbreaker and you don't want much in the way of exposed flesh.

I took the Toyota pickup down to meet some Pilot trucks in Wilton and they were skeptical about dropping the cars off.

Like, nobody who buys cars like these is going to drive an old Toyota pickup. They scoured my ID pretty hard and even made a couple of phone calls.

I eventually showed 'em the truck more closely, including opening the hood. It's not just an old Toyota truck, it's a fully restored version of that truck. It's probably the best Toyota truck from that year on the planet.

Yeah, they capitulated and dropped off the vehicles. I knew the passphrase and I had appropriate documentation. Showing them the Toyota was just the icing on the cake and for fun. It is a beautiful example of an iconic truck. That fucker will take me almost anywhere I want to go.

That thing will take me places I can't get the Humvee. LOL It'll take me far enough to cause an international incident! They'll have to turn off the high-voltage transmission lines from Canada again! (I'm pretty sure that I'll get some jail time if I do that again.)

Anyhow, the whole building (old factory and repurposed many times for parts of it) is up for sale for $12m. That's not a bad price, but I can't think of anything I'd put there. It is big enough and has things like frieght elevators... So, I could buy it to display my collection of cars. It'd make a brilliant space for a museum.

But, that'd not make me any money... Well, not enough money to cover the cost. I'd have to sell a whole lot of $5 tickets to pay that off!

Or, I could just sell one $12m ticket!

And, yeah, it's gonna be fucking Friday and Saturday. We haven't had temperatures this low yet this season. We haven't even had any temperatures below 0°. It has only gone down into the teens at night. We've had no arctic winds/temperatures yet this year. It has been insanely warm. Often, it has been above freezing during the day.

So, I live in Maine. I get cold weather. I love it, but lots of people complain about it. That's when I point out that they're living in Maine. It gets cold in Maine. You can get angry at it, but that's not gonna make it warmer. You might as well embrace it. Learn to enjoy the cold. Dress for the cold and find outdoor activities that expose you to the cold!

I'd say that folks who don't like the cold should move, but that's a bit sophomoric. It's really not that simple for people to just up and move. So, that's a bit silly...

I figured I'd write a longer response, 'cause you don't get much time online!

Oh, my phone company is offering me a few new phone... LOL I'm worried that it's a trap! I don't want 'em to kill off my tethering capacity!
