Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

if the power goes out the plastic is worthless

hmm... Then again, if the power is out long enough, cash will also be worthless.

I think people will still take cash when the power is out. It was used before electricity, wasn't it?

Kinda?

It was, but there'd need to still be a central government. I figure that's gonna fail if the power is out for any length of time.

The notion of the US Dollar is actually quite new. States and regions had their own currency. They continued doing so even after the mid 1860s.

Prior to electricity, if you used a US dollar it was redeemable for gold. These days, it's just a piece of paper. It's a show of trust in the United States.

In the situation I'm picturing, there's no "US" to speak of.

Without that, and without a world recognizing it, they're just gonna be bits of paper.
