I dont think my vision is good enough for me to hit a target with any accuracy at 500 yards

I don't think I can at my age. My eyesight isn't that good anymore.

But, the Marine Corps will issue you a pair of glasses. We called 'em 'prophylactics' 'cause the glasses were so ugly they'd scare women away. But, if it was reasonable and possible to correct your vision enough to qualify, they'd get you some spectacles meant to survive a war.

They look like black-winged glasses from the 50s. Hell, they are black winged glasses from the 1950s.

It would take a whole lot more than marine issue eyeglasses to scare the women away from me!

You could test that theory. I'm sure you can buy these glasses (especially the frames) as a civilian.

I can't imagine why you'd want to, but you can.
