They don't do that here. I just throw them in the recycle bin and they get picked up along with the trash.

Some people collect them and scrap them for the weight of the aluminum but I don't bother with that

It's pretty effective at keeping cans off the side of the road. So, I don't mind. It does mean a 30 pack is gonna be an extra $1.50, I suppose.

I take a walk along the road once a month or so and pick up the cans

That's nice of you. Now you just need some homeless person to come get them from your garage.

My connection dropped out, though I think it'll be dinner time soon.
