Oh, man... Even with the shitty neighbors, it was pretty good.
At the very least, I had some amusing moments.
In the case of the dude shooting into the building, I think he fired a whole magazine and missed with most of the shots.
That and firearms don't really scare me all that much. The average civilian gun battle happens within 6'. They usually miss.
If I'm within 6' of you and you're not already pointing your firearm at me, I am pretty sure I'm not getting shot. Even in my disabled condition, I can take that firearm from you before you actually use it in any useful fashion.
For a knife, it's 21 steps. If your firearm is in its holster and I am 21 steps away - but armed with a knife (already drawn) - I win pretty much 99 out of 100 times.
Most folks are poorly trained with their chosen weapon.
Most people do not handle stress well either and get flustered when under pressure
Yup.
As a matter of clarity, if you have your firearm drawn and you're pointing it at me, I'm even less concerned.
I'm more scared of the idiot that fumbles with their weapon. If you're pointing it at me properly, you could have already shot me but have decided not to - at least at that time.
To be clear, I don't like firearms pointed at me. I've also dealt with numerous idiots pulling out a firearm in front of me and pointing it in my general direction - even if just because they're morons. I take it from them. I take it from them in a manner that means they can't stop me from taking it from them. I then remove the rounds and put the firearm up. They can have it back when they leave. Most likely, they'll be leaving shortly.
I do this because I have to. I once watched a buddy accidentally shoot another buddy in the stomach - which was an agonizing death.
I no longer suffer fools with firearms. I have the training and the repetition of the exercises to take a firearm from anyone. Hell, if I'm within 6' of a police officer, I can take their firearm too. Given how twitchy cops are, I might actually do it, remove the ammunition, and hand it back to him while complying with his intended orders.
If you are going to point a firearm at someone you may as well shoot them
