That's why there are many replicas and collectors of the real stuff.

In fact, a lot of what you're seeing in the Mecum auction isn't even a replica of anything - it's just dude's creation.

And, I suspect they have a lot of sign makers that make a tidy sum from their creations. They sell a whole lot of 'road art'. A lot of that 'road art' is signage.
