Pretty much. My guide sucked. I was confused. The people were city people. The list goes on.

After I fired my guide, who wouldn't actually do what he was told, I stayed pretty much where I could visually see the hotel room.

No, no I did not. I had a pretty shitty time. I fired the guide 'cause the only places they'd take me were places they approved of - which all just happened to be friends, relatives, or people who paid the guide a kickback.

I hope if I ever get to go to Japan I get to have a better time than getting fucked up in the hotel room.
