UP: Neck

Middle: Bridge and Middle

Down: Bridge

Some times they do it with 3 volumes and all 3 are on in the center position. You then use the volume to adjust which pickups you want at what volumes. That's actually my preferred way, but this way is fine.

Do you use the middle pick up much?

I like it for certain applications. I use it mostly when I'm throwing a lot of dirt into the mix. It gives a proper growl when you've got high gain and distortion added. It's a guttural growl, kinda primal in nature.

I have never played a three pickup guitar. I know how the neck and bridge pick ups sound, but I have no clue what the middle of those sounds like. I usually like the bridge pick up
