Hell yeah. I will wear ear plugs if I am around loud machinery. But not for music. I'm not deaf yet!!
I like to think I'd notice if I'm going deaf. I'd notice 'cause I'd constantly be asking 'what?' or asking people to repeat themselves.
That's why I got tested for colorblindness. I was arguing with people about the color of stuff. I noticed that I was doing so fairly often, sometimes for way longer than I should have, and so I finally went and got tested. It turns out, I'm partially colorblind, I have issues between the spectrum. Oranges may be yellow to me, or even the reverse. They might even be red. Fucked if I can tell the difference in dark blue colors, those all look black to me.
So, yeah... I'm partially colorblind. I went and got tested 'cause I noticed I was arguing a lot.
I had some apologies to give... Oops! LOL They were right the whole time and I'm just wrong. I can admit when I'm wrong. I can even learn from my mistakes!
Also, I don't tend to ask 'what?' or to ask people to repeat themselves unless it's legitimately very low volume. I can still hear volume, but the highs and extreme lows will be inaudible to me - or heard at a limited frequency as there are few pure tones out there.
I say what a lot depending on who I am talking to, if there is someone else around and I get to saying what I ask them if they can hear what is being said, they always no, not a word, so I figure if it's not just me I'm all right
Goddamnit...
I forgot to take my fucking sleepy meds.
I have a reminder ON THIS COMPUTER and it didn't go off at 20:00 - which I then tell to alarm again at 20:45. It didn't even go off at 20:00!
Fucking Thunderbird - if you don't close it for days on end. I did actually reboot this device 4 days ago. Thunderbird has been open since then. It gets flaky about announcements after a while. Other notifications work like a champion. The alarm function fucks up and I never remember to restart Thunderbird.
