Then definitely support a local business!
You're much closer to a Guitar Center than I am. The closest to me is a 3 hour drive - each way.
Yeah but I live in a municipality with a collective population of nearly 500,000. You wouldn't think you would have to go 35 miles down the highway to another municipality to visit guitar center. I am surprised there is not one in one of the shopping areas around my area. I go visit some of the local guitar shops once in a while and look at what they got and sometimes plug one in and crank it up for a minute, then I say thanks and leave.
Well, they can't have a GC everywhere, I suppose...
They may have seen the density of other guitar shops and opted for a market where they're more likely to dominate. You have a lot of local shops, so why compete there unless you have to?
Hmm...
I just checked to see if they were a franchise, but I don't think they are from a quick look.
But, there are music store franchises. I'd say I should open one in Farmington, but that'd end up putting a buddy of mine out of business.
You would figure they would try to have them in as many larger population centers, I suppose they are franchises so someone could pay them and open one I suppose.
