Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

While light, they're still pretty solid feeling.

watching an alligator hunt a dick

I hope the dick got away!

You can easily avoid a gator on land. They are literally not a threat as long as you stay a good ten feet away. They can lunge maybe five feet on land and they run slowly. Plus, their jaws are at a different angle, meaning you aren't really on their diet.

The thing still scared the fuck out of me. I don't know what distance is safe. It was at least 50 feet away and heading in our direction. That was plenty close for me

You were 100% safe at that distance.

LOL I did my research before going out to hunt for a gator to wrestle.

But... I didn't do enough research, which might make my research suspect.

See, I wanted to wrestle the gator on my birthday. So, I got out of bed and started drinking immediately. At about noon, I headed out to find a gator to wrestle. I spent several hours mucking about in the swamp.

HOWEVER...

My birthday is in December, which is still "cold" in Florida. Gators are cold blooded animals and don't venture out at temperatures below 50 degrees. Above that, they'll come out to sun themselves, but they're pretty lethargic until the temperatures reach the upper sixties or even seventies.

So, there were no gators to wrestle unless I ventured into the water. Hunting for gators at that point is pretty fucking pointless. Meaning I didn't do enough research.

I did enough research to know not to get into the water to wrestle gators. The only way I'm gonna win that match is on land. On land, I'm pretty confident I can wrestle a gator, so long as I don't hesitate.

And, if I can't win I'd at least have a fucking cool scar and a great fucking story about how I wrestled a gator!

But, no... No, there are no gators hanging out in December when it's in the forties. They're in the water, tucked in the mud to keep warm. Which means my research wasn't all that good - and that I'm not actually a gator expert.

II am, on the other hand, 100% certain that you're fine (assuming you're paying attention) when a gator is 10' away. I have a permanent disability and I can outrun a gator. Just a speedy walk and you can outrun a gator (on land).

In the water, you're in their domain. It doesn't matter how fast you can walk, run, or swim. You can not, and will not, win that round. The best you can do is maybe survive the encounter. Maybe...

I ran as fast as I could and did not look back until I was safely in the car and from there I could see no gator
