Indeed, it shouldn't sound like it did an hour ago.

They'll definitely make a huge improvement over what was on the guitar. They're not expensive, even.

They'll deaden eventually, as your bits of skin get stuck in the groves and oxidation occurs. Hell, let me know when they're dead and I might root through the collection and find some oddball examples.
