Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

I just played and recorded a little bit of the acoustic with the old strings and was going to put the new ones on it now LoL

Assuming you're moving at average speed, I hope you like the strings.

yeah, they do sound different than the ones that were on there, no doubt about that

Pull up on the strings, pulling them away from the guitar, and it will pre-stretch them, making your tuning last longer. Eventually they'll stretch themselves, but pre-stretching makes it fast. Do this a few times, tuning between each, and it makes the strings hold their tune faster.

Strings stretch as you play them. Even though they're made of metal, they still stretch. So, you pre-stretch them and it makes the tuning more stable.

And, of course they sound different. They should be louder, brighter, and more articulate - meaning individual notes ring clearer.

Don't forget to give 'em a good stretching to make 'em hold a tune well. That's not a myth, strings should be stretched.

what do you mean stretch em? doesnt the tuning peg stretch em?

I strongly suspect you'll be happy with the replacements.

Go for it. I'm not going anywhere any time soon.

I'm going to have to get used to this new sound LoL It sounds like a neighbor I used to know years ago Ovation acoustic guitar he had. It doesn't sound anything like it did a half an hour ago!
