It's a 'new world' (Americas, considered just one continent/entity in EU instruction) parrot, from what Google told me.
And, yeah...
AMAZINGLY HIGH ON MY LIST OF SHIT NOT TO HAVE HAPPEN, like AMAZINGLY HIGH, is 'being bitten by a parrot.
It could trivially take a finger off.
In my life I can recall at least a dozen times someone has asked me if I want to touch or hold their parrot. Some of those times have been while I was fucked up. So far, I have not touched one. So far, I haven't even let one on my finger.
Which is kinda odd as I've handled a few raptors - including an eagle. But, in those instances I had a thick leather glove that covered me up to my elbow. They don't use those when handling parrots!
I think I'd use tongs to handle a parrot, which is probably why I do not actually have one.
I dont mind having a parakeet on my finger, but a parrot or a raptor, no fucking way!
I've also held an owl, which is a raptor. I was wearing the glove.
I also know a dude who owns a zoo/wild animal sanctuary.
I've never held an owl. There is a wildlife sanctuary nearby that has a lot of different owl species in cages
