There are so many different sounds and effects available to guitar players these days and you can get so many of them for free it is the golden age!

And the rest are available so cheap... So, so cheap...

I can buy a guitar that I really didn't have to set up - a Gibson Les Paul copy - for $170 with free shipping that plays as well as any $600 guitar. The intonation was off like a 'cent' (most people don't even have tuners that measure cents) and nobody would have noticed it. Not even a REAL Les Paul comes that well set up.

It's definitely a guitar heyday.

For like a hundred bucks I can buy a pedal that has damned near infinite combinations - and actually get a decent tone out of many of their effects. We had like three pedals when I was young, and one of 'em was the goddamned wah pedal.
