The only headphone amp I have is one of those altoid box amps

They're pretty fancy and packed with tech.

I'd have killed for shit like this at prices like this when I was growing up with the guitar.

Yeah, it is definitely light years beyond what you could get for a headphone amp back when I started playing

You'd have had to build it yourself when I was young.

And it'd not have all those features. It was simply impossible. Hell, reverb still generally was generated by 'reverberation chambers', prior to the 'spring reverb' option.
