It was awesome. I learned a lot. I had a ton of fun. I fell in love with Maine. I fell in love with winter.
The generation before us had to do shit like their own groundskeeping. They'd lost a bit of prestige and we were as they were earning it back. Well, maybe a couple of generations before us. LOL By the time I was there, that wasn't our job. But, yeah, not too many years before me the students were expected to do everything like shovel snow and mow the lawns. We didn't do any of that shit.

Not me. I think the focus should be on learning. It's a school, not a disciplinary institute. It's also a giant amount of work. A blizzard would mean no school for a few days. It's not like it's a reform school.
Physical exertion is good for the brain. I know in Japan they have the students do all those things that a janitor would normally do. I don't think they make them do lawn care and snow removal though
