Yeah, they maintained the property - including shoveling by hand miles of pathways. It was almost like a reform school.
We did keep our dorms clean. We'd even wax and buff the floors. Ain't no way they're letting kids do that these days.
These days, the kids can't even leave the campus on weekends, unless they live in the area. You can't even have your own car on campus. Though I think they make an exception for those who will graduate that year. I think... I'm not actually sure.
Reminds me of when I was in high school. When I went we could go outside for lunch and do whatever we wanted, by the time I graduated nobody was allowed outside of the building at lunchtime.
LOL We had a smoking section. Yeah... I didn't smoke back then, at least not cigarettes, but we had smoking sections in a few areas.
There was a vice principal who would go on to the roof with binoculars and he would try to find anyone smoking outside at lunchtime and them punish them
