Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

LOL I have a lift and a heated garage. It was one of the things I splurged on when having the house built. I don't regret it. I also have no HOA to worry about. I barely have 'neighbors' and they're only really neighbors because there's nobody else around. They're within 'walking distance' if you want to put some effort into it.

And, yeah, I figured the mounts would be a bitch to change. It's one of those jobs where you just know you're going to bust a knuckle. I'd probably get in there two days ahead of time and spraying it heavily with penetrating oil, probably doing so twice on day one and twice on day two. I'd probably spray 'em again on the day you plan on working on it, just to make sure.

I've been at an auction since last week (bidding by phone or internet, depending on the day and my expected activity) and picked up some gems. I actually now own a Crown Vic that looks to be in pretty solid condition. It was cheap so I bought it to fuck with some friends before I resell it. It's a movie car, so it'll be valued as such.

You can see it here:

I figure I can sell it for at least what I have in it, but first I get to screw with some friends.

Damn that thing looks sweet! I'd get myself in a lot of trouble if I was driving a setup like that, but I'd have fun doing it lol. I drive an 05 and it looks like an undercover narc. I love taking it out to the desert and ripping on it. I'm not too far from joshua tree national park so there is lots of open land and dirt lots on the way there. I put some bigger all terrain tires on it last summer so I'm always having fun with that rwd when I'm driving on dirt haha.

A lift with a heated garage sounds awesome. I can't wait until I get my own place, I think a lift will be one of the first things I'll buy to spruce up the place lol.

But yeah, I've been dousing the bolts that I'm going to have to remove for a good day and a half now. Was hoping to get started on the work today but it started raining a bit in the yard I was planning to do the work at so maybe tomorrow or within the next few days. In the meantime though I'll just keep applying PB blaster. Probably not a bad idea if I give it another day or two just so the bolts can loosen up a little more

You might as well make the work as easy as possible. PB Blaster is a good choice, I think.

Do you have a 'hot wrench' if things go south? There's a time and a place for the torch!

I can kinda weld. I'd not trust my welding to anything too structural, but I could weld engine mount hardware back in place after a torch-mishap.

Seriously, I do not envy your task.

I do have a torch on hand just in case! Thankfully tho I've never had to use it whenever I've done work on the Vic :) The car has next to nothing in terms of rust so at least I have that in my favor haha

To be honest, my welds look like pigeon shit lol. I'm pretty good with soldering but I have very little experience with welding. I definitely want to get around to practicing more because I think metal fabrication is loads of fun, just gotta get my own equipment though and also a place to do it. On the bright side, I do know some excellent welders just in case

I envy your car lift hahaha
