It's supposed to snow tonight, and some more tomorrow, and maybe a little the next day. That only adds up to like 4" of snow, but that's enough to shut everything down.
That ain't nothin!
That's all we been getting here, hell I don't even think there's 4 inches of snow on the ground here. It hasn't snowed here in a while either. We have not had one of those good old 2 feet of snow dumps in a few years now. I kind of miss it
They just got like 10" back home. So, they'll be snowed in or the season. I guess it hasn't even been all that cold - just one day where it went below 0°.
But, it's still January. That's plenty of winter left to go.
Down here, they don't really have any snow removal gear. They have bucket loaders and graders, so they use those for snow removal.
As you can imagine, that's about as efficient as the US Senate.
So, things will crawl to a halt. The last time this happened (not that long ago) the interstate even shut down with hundreds of people stuck in traffic for many hours. That was just a few inches. This time we might get FOUR inches! LOL They're gonna pretty much stop the entire city. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost power for parts of the city.
The hotel has a backup generator that should last for a while, I'm pretty sure. The last time we were on the generator, my internet didn't work. I suspect it's only essential lighting and heat that are powered by the generator. But, yeah, the rest of the city is surely going to panic and shut down.
I suspect they're raiding the grocery stores and whatnot. I am way too lazy to look and way too lazy to care. I'm in a giant fucking hotel with a restaurant. They'll have at least enough food to go for a week.
The temperatures here have barely been below zero as well. We usually have a couple weeks where it does not get above zero this time of the year. Not so far this year.
