Is it really that much better at what it does than a quarter million dollar vehicle?
LOL I can downvote you once and you're yellow again. You literally just turned red - at 9000 points (check your profile).
That won't be saved on the new servers!
Nope, you just barely turned red at 9000 points. I could downvote you and you turned yellow again.
So, I get bonus points for being a good observer! I noticed it immediately.
I am awaiting dinner, but otherwise engaged. I just finished up an article for the 20th.
Nope.
It's a matter of scarcity and desirability.
In real world use, it's no better than a Honda Accord. In fact, in many ways the Honda Accord is a much better vehicle.
I expect many of my cars to significantly increase in value. In many cases, that was a major consideration with my purchase. "I like it AND it's going to be worth millions of dollars some day!"
In fact, I expect my collection to appreciate in value better than stocks and bonds. (It'd still be stupid to just invest in cars. Diversification is key, even if one market is dramatically outperforming another.)
The cars will most likely keep getting higher in value as time goes by for the same reason some are worth 20 million dollars. scarcity and desirability. It's not like they are building any more of them.
In some cases, I own the only one left on the planet. In others, I have the best one on the planet. In many cases, I own one of just a few remaining/built. Many of the examples I own are just GTR type of versions of which they only made a few dozen or few hundred.
On paper, I've already made a stack of cash. My collection is already worth more than I paid for it. In many instances, it was worth more than I paid for it when I actually paid for it! LOL When I mention a 'steal', it's sometimes a few hundred grand less than it has sold for elsewhere.
