Yeah, but they check VIN. You can also check it and if it was misrepresented you have pretty much forever to return it. Well, in theory it'd be years and years. They're obligated to not misrepresent vehicles.

I would think most people would not want a reputation of misrepresenting the vehicles they bring to auction

Shady fuckers will risk it. There's some seriously shady people whenever there's millions of dollars moving around.

There are many horror stories out there to stand as witness.
