Yeah, they don't base their tone on the same rules. Our rules largely come from Greece, as interpreted through the middle ages and the classical era. Which is a little odd, as Greece is really close to what we call Asia. Asia is a term from Greece that pretty much literally means, "That land over there (that we know little about)".

In our case, and in modern times, we use English - which is a living language. So, yeah, it's gonna change - and then you have the people trying to force the language to change.
