I learned all those languages in high school computer class. I remember reading the textbooks for the computer class from front cover to back cover the very first day of school. I never got a single question wrong on a single test the whole school year. People were accusing me of being a computer LoL

My only formal course was about programming in C, but I had other courses that included some programming as a part of them. I was well into college by this point. However, my high school had a few fancy computers from back in the early 70s and I used those.

Frankly, I didn't even like computers for a long time. They were a pain in the ass and slower than i could often do in my head or with a calculator. Computers didn't really do anything, unless you made them do something.

Yeah I remember back then that they would tell us that a computer is going to be in every house and I was thinking to myself, why? Most people in the computer class struggle to get the computer to do anything

In hindsight, I'm not sure that it was a good idea to make 'user friendly' computers.

The web was a much better place when it actually required some intelligence and understanding just to get online. Then along came Windows 95 and AOL or Comcast.

I suppose it's related to "Eternal September".
