I don't think a home is quite the same as underwear. I've never lived in a house built specifically for me, but I am still happy that I have the place to call home

Yeah, mine has stuff like a large game room, a giant chunk dedicated to music, a gym, an entire room dedicated to firearms, a kitchen optimized for when I do lose mobility, etc...

Anyone spending that much money on a house is gonna want it to suit their personal needs.

I'd be surprised if my house's price would be more than a few million dollars. The land alone is worth more than that.

I didnt want to go through all the expense and trouble of building a home to suit my needs so I just found one that has the most amenities that I was looking for at my price range. And I think I did great.

I think that's really all that matters - unless you plan on moving. So long as you're happy with it, that's the important bit.

All sorts of people buy houses as investments, even if they're living in them they see it as transitory and temporary. My house is a home and I expect to be here until I die. Resale value, marking adjustments, and the likes, don't matter one iota to me.
