I think that's really all that matters - unless you plan on moving. So long as you're happy with it, that's the important bit.

All sorts of people buy houses as investments, even if they're living in them they see it as transitory and temporary. My house is a home and I expect to be here until I die. Resale value, marking adjustments, and the likes, don't matter one iota to me.

I'm happy. I love that we have lots of room and no neighbors and no noise ordinance even though i'm basically in town
