That's good. Why wouldn't he cash your checks?

Because he told me that I no longer had to pay for his services. I kept sending regular checks, but they never got cashed. So, I just gave up and stopped sending him money.

I presume he means just the basics are free. If I need like representation in court I assume he'll want some money. I only pay him a retainer and then a continuation payment every six months. He hasn't accepted any payment since the wreck.

For some definition of 'cheap'. I still limp when nobody's looking, 'cause it's too much discomfort to walk without a limp.
