I used to go duck and goose hunting quite a bit when I was able to. Did a lot of pheasant and quail hunting too. One of my good buddies had a chocolate lab that would bring the carcasses to us. It was fun.

Yeah, my dog retrieves game, but I generally only have him bring back rabbits that I shoot from my porch. It keeps his training up, but he's gotten pretty lazy in his elder years. I was going to have him train a puppy, but the bitch wasn't in heat and the puppy has to be the same lineage.

Well I am sure he will be willing when the bitch is in heat!

It was just bad timing. I have had this lineage since about 1992, with the same sire each time. He's a pretty solid sample and having the sire train the pup is just the easiest way to go.
